Computer Basics | Installation

Preparation

To be able to assemble a computer does not require special skills, because everyone can do this.
When assembling a computer there are several things that must be considered, the formula is 4J:
a.Do not rush
b.Never Nervous
c.Do not Panic
d.Do One Post

To secure our physical being exposed to the flow of electricity, then consider the following:
a.Use Footwear
b.Hands do not wet / sweaty
c. We can rub hands to the body casing to eliminate Static Electricity

The introduction of the motherboard components and their functionsMainboard componentsThe motherboard serves as a place to put / stick the other components of the computersupport.
Which we discuss here are the components that are attached to the motherboard, as well as information darigambar:

1a.) Processor socket: for Pentium IV & Celeron, 478 pin
1b.) Lock socket processors: the processor to lock after a set disoketnya
2a.) The holder (retention): for processor cooling fan (heatshink)
2b.) Power jack: for processor cooling fan
3.) Slot Memory (RAM = Random Access Memory) the type of DDR-RAM, 184 Pin
4a.) IDE Connector-1 (PRIMARY IDE) (Speed = 66 MByte / second): for connectionHarddisk &
CD-ROM, 40 pin
4b.)-2 IDE connector (IDE SECONDARY) (Speed = 33 MByte / second): to connect the hard drive and CD-ROM, 40 pin
5a.) ATX power connector-20 pin: for motherboard
5b.) ATX power connector-12 Volt: for processor
6.) Socket FDD (Floppy Disk Drive): for Floppy Disk, 34 Pin
7a.) Chipset Northbridge (North): Controller CPU type, types of memory, an AGP slotand a PCI slot bus speed
7b.) Chipset South Bridge (South): Pegendali IDE, USB, Serial and Parallel Port,Keyboard, Soundcard Onboard, and all ports in addition to the VGA port
8.) Slot AGP (Accelerated Graphic Port): for VGA Card
9.) Chipset BIOS (Basic Input Output System): to store the BIOS program
10.) Slot PCI (Peripheral Card Interconect): for the components of ADD ON (VGA Card,Sound Card, LAN Card, USB Card, Internal Modem, TV Tuner Internal)
11.) Slot CNR (Communication Network Riser) / slot AMR (Audio Modem Riser): for theInternal Modem
12.) Battery Backup BIOS: to save the BIOS settings when the computer is turned off
13.) Jumper BIOS Reset: to reset the BIOS settings to return to factory settings
14.) Front Panel Connector: for connecting the panel in front of the computer chasing
15.) Real Panel / Port

PREPARATION BEFORE ASSEMBLING

There are several things to consider before assembling, among others:

1. Assistant equipment
Which includes tools here is a plus and a minus screwdriver screwdriver with small and medium size, long and short, tweezers and pliers that sometimes we need.
2. Cleaning equipment
Cleaning equipment or in other words can be called care, for example, a brush, a vacuum cleaner / vacuum cleaner, and cleaning fluids / Sanpolly.
3. Safety equipment
Other safety equipment are not here to protect us from static electricity, we can use the Gelang Static / Flow Electrostatic neutralizer.

Installing the Processor

That needs to install the processor is the processor determines the head and the head processor socket.

Head processor is usually characterized by:
• One of the obtuse angle and different from another angle
• In one corner there is a black dot / white
• On one corner near his feet are small lines / small squares

How to install:
• Open the socket lever hook
• Fit the processor on the socket and do not be too pressured
• Close the socket lever hook.
• Replace the blower / fan cooling the processor and do not forget to put power on
Installing the Processor Cooling Fan

How to install

• Replace the processor cooling fan right above
• Make sure the cooler is fitting location
• Press the left and right side to lock the position of the fan
• Move the lever forward and backward fan to permanently lock.
• Install the Fan Power Cables to-motherboard

Installation of Memory / RAM

That needs to install memory is a type of memory that we use and mounting location of memory slots, whether SDRAM, DDR RAM or the other. What distinguishes the two is the position of the foot / leg slit memory.

RAM installation steps:

1. Press the locking lever's slot on the right and left of the slot

2. Note that there is a gap in the slot

3. Pairs of RAM in accordance with the position of the gap, and press until it locks

Mainboard installation

Next is the installation of mainboard into the casing, the steps are:

1. Open the right side cover casing using a screwdriver plus

2. Pull rearward casing so that the casing cover open

3. Attach screws to put the screws on the casing

4. Mainboard enter slowly into the casing and adjust the screw that

already there

5. Mainboard and tighten the bolts

IDE Hard Drive and Cable Installation

To install Hardddisk, use a drive bay that has been provided on the casing, The steps are:

1. Put the hard drive in the drive bay and secure it with screws

2. Attach the cable to a position that has been determined (see picture)

3. The end of a long cable attached to the Mainboard

4. The only tip the cable plugged into the hard drive

Installation CDROM Drive and IDE Cables

Which must be considered in the CD ROM is the position of the jumper on the CD ROM (SLAVE) not to collision with the position of the hard drive (MASTER), since we use 1 IDE cable. For installation steps can be seen in the picture beside.

Floppy Drive and Cable Installation

That need to be considered in attach Floppy Disk Drive is not to reverse the position of the cord, if the wiring is not reversed it will cause unreadable diskette.

Power Cabling Installation

Installing the power cord must be careful, if not careful can cause your computer / device is not live / be detected even burn.

1. Mainboard Power Cabling

- Find 20 pin mainboard power cable from the Power Supply (see picture)

- Attach the socket provided on the mainboard (see picture)

2. Cabling Power Processors

- Find 4 pin processor power cable from the power supply (see picture)

- Attach the socket provided on the mainboard (see picture)

3. Hard Drive Power Cabling

- Find Hard Drive 4 Pin power cable from the power supply (see picture)

- Attach the socket provided on the hard drive (see picture)

- Red power cord meets the red data cable

4. Power Cable Installation CD ROM DRIVE

- Find the power cable from the CD ROM 4 Pin power supply (see picture)

- Attach the socket is available on CD ROM (see picture)

- Red power cord meets the red data cable

5. Floppy Drive Power Cabling

- Search Floppy 4 Pin power cable (small) from the power supply (see picture)

- Attach the socket is available on Floppy (see picture)

Cabling Panel

Panel cable from the cable contained in the casing which is then connected to the front panel Mainboard.

This cable consists of several types, each of which has a different function. To be able to install this panel cable, first we have to read the manual that came at the time we bought the mainboard.

The cables consist of:

1. HDD Led, hard to light red color

2. Power Led, for green power light

3. Power SW / Stand by, turn the knob to turn on the computer

4. Reset, to enable the reset button

Rear Cabling

Wiring at the back of this intention is to install the cable:

1. Electrical Power

2. Keyboard + Mouse

3. monitor

4. Sound, etc.
